Animal Tales Series
In the ANIMAL TALES Series I join my love of stories and my love of animals with my personal need to work with repurposed materials. I create hand-drawn kiln processed glass paintings of animal portraits and merge them to manipulated used books, the titles of which are specific to the animal either in personality or in subject matter, and are often the titles of the piece.
(Black painted lines are done in Glass Paint. When color is present in the images > Reverse painting with oil or acrylic is used.)

Fun Fact : A hummingbirds average heart rate is more than 1,200 beats per minute. Angela Johnson’s novel BIRD has four characters, each with a "heart problem." The diminutive size of this text and the first character’s nickname “Hummingbird” led me to create this artwork. | Animal Tales - Hummingbird Heart - backHummingbird Heart Back View
